The 'Fast-Track' BA TESOL Course

Picture
Total Course Fee: $1,250.00

Student admissions are accepted throughout the year, so you can register and start the course when it suits you. Our administration staff and Student Advisors, are available 7 days a week, throughout the year.

Our popular 'Fast-Track' courses are targeted at professional ESL teachers, that have previous teaching certification (TEFL/TESOL/CELTA or equivalent), and in-class or online teaching experience.

Students can complete our 'Fast-Track' BA TESOL course in under 12 months (if they meet the necessary entry requirements and work hard during the course!) or they can take their time and finish it within the standard time of 36 months. Since almost all our students are full time teachers, it simply doesn't make any sense to drip-feed them coursework, with time limitations on each assignment, so we give them access to all course modules right from the start.  This allows them much more flexibility when having to teach and study at the same time.

Entry to the BA TESOL 'Fast-Track' course requires 30 fast-track student credits, which are awarded for previous certification (15 credits), and teaching experience (15 credits). These credits give students exemption from modules 1 and 2 of this course.

While we do allow a small number of students without teaching experience or previous certification, to register for the course, they must first take a local 120 hour TEFL or TESOL course before they register and start the course with us. During the 3 year course period, they must also obtain a minimum of 3 months teaching experience (we can help with this by providing a 'letter of introduction' to local language schools), and are also required to complete all course modules, with no exemptions.

This degree course covers all aspects of teaching English to foreign students and as with all our courses, there is nothing else to pay for, as we provide all the necessary information required to complete the course without further expense.

General Course Info

This Bachelor of Arts degree in TESOL is far more comprehensive than a standard TEFL course, and while many employers in foreign countries would be happy with hiring basic 120 hour TEFL certified teachers, times have changed, and most now require their foreign teachers to have a minimum of a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree, in order for them to successfully obtain visa's and work permits for their teachers, from their governments.

Our BA in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) is designed for those who are interested in teaching English as a career. During the course you will learn about new methods, techniques and materials used to effectively teach English to non-native speakers. Even though most of our students have, on average, from 2-5 years of teaching experience, they will still find the course both interesting and informative.

If you are interested in developing some level of understanding of linguistics and learning how to teach English as a second language in depth, then our courses are perfect for you. You will learn how to impart the necessary and fundamental skills of teaching language to people including; reading, writing, speaking and listening. Our course will also develop your skills of communication, essay writing, research and most importantly teaching. This will enable you to embark on a truly promising career in teaching English abroad or even from the comfort of your own home.

Some Frequently Asked Questions
Q. With reference to your degree courses, how are they completed at home?
A. All you need is a PC or laptop, and access to the internet, to complete our courses. Course modules are in MS Word format, and are easily downloaded to your computer. Students simply fill in the spaces on each module, with their course assignments (saving their work as they go along). Once each, or all of the modules have been completed, they use a drop-box in the course download area, to return the finished module(s) back to us. It's as easy as that!

Q. I want to apply for the fast-track credits. I already have a 120 hour TEFL certificate and teaching experience, do I send this information to you by email?
A. Students send a copy (or pic) of their previous certification and current CV, using the drop-box in the course download area, when they start the course. As soon as we receive these, the fast-track credits are awarded to your student account.

Q. If I have some questions about a particular course assignment, is there someone I can contact to help me?
A. We have a large team of Student Advisers, who are there to help you, 7 days a week. You would simply send us an email with your question, and one of our advisers will be in touch, usually within an hour or so. Most of the coursework is easy to follow, but we are here to help our students, should they get stuck!

Q. Should I submit completed modules, as and when I finish them, or should I wait until all my modules have been completed, before I submit them?
A. The choice is yours! As long as you don't submit modules that are not fully completed, you can choose to send them individually, when you have finished them, or wait until all modules are completed. Grading is not done until all modules have been returned completed, however, our Student Advisers will always complete a cursory check of the work, to make sure everything is in order, before the full coursework is sent for grading. If they find something that needs attention, they will let you know straight away, so that you can correct it.
